since everyone is talking about lies and truths, let me contribute something interesting.

there's this paradox called liar's paradox, which goes like this: i am a liar. therein lies the problem. if i am a liar and i admit to being a liar, that would mean i was not lying and therefore not a liar. but if i was telling the truth, then i would not be a liar and thus the statement would be false, and so on.

the thing is, the guy who came up with this was epimenides, a cretan who said that all cretans were liars. so was he lying or not?

i kind of came across this problem when i was much younger, and it kind of kept me in a logic loop for a while until i decided to make a simple assumption, that the liar for once was telling the truth, or that the guy who was telling the truth was simply lying at that instance. after all, who's perfect?

of course, this merely delayed the problem, because now i couldn't explain why the liar was telling the truth or why the guy telling the truth decided to lie.
